Opportunity: As the population in America continues to increase
daily. The need for shelter’ a basic necessity in life becomes increasingly
essential. With this opportunity, Americans have the option to rent or own; the
latter financially freeing, the other a long-term financial obligation. Rental
and home cost will accommodate both lower-class, middle-class and wealthy. This
opportunity would be financially profitable for my real estate investment firm,
while ensuring the shelter, safety and security of customers. This need is
viewed as important to American citizens eager to own or rent residential
houses, apartments and condominiums and-or land. This opportunity is big, therefore big
thoughts and actions are necessary. The market is broad geographically and
demographically. The market for this opportunity is available to every race and
nationality. Advertisement for this opportunity will carry far across the
world, to welcome international customers within our international housing
division. Due to the continuous need for shelter and housing, the window of opportunity
is always open within this market. The
goal in life is to achieve good for communities and for people. As a volunteer
at a local homeless shelter for women and children, I have developed this opportunity
that will seize the systematic pattern within poor communities. As an individual
who believes in inclusivity I will also include the middle-class and wealthy
within my opportunity; in order to achieve the better good for all in society. The
service I wish to provide is a real estate investment firm, with a department focused
on community outreach for underserviced individuals. By developing, building
and implementing an educational institution with an artistic program, job
recruitment division, employment preparation programs, college tuition assistance
division, scholarship division, clientele would feel a sense of care from officials
within the department of housing and urban planning development, lawmaker who
actually care for their future. Affordable housing clientele would no longer
feel like second class citizens by isolating such housing within crime infested
areas with no other options but to engage in crime due to lack of funds or to
follow in the footsteps of their fickle mentors of whom they witness daily. If
one becomes submerged in impoverished climate day and night one lacks the vison
of greater because it has not been witnessed. By implementing these divisions
within the opportunity, I will lower criminal activities, senseless violence.
Innovation: There are a couple
processes which must be acknowledged and acted upon in order to properly launch
my opportunity. I would need a main headquarters for operation. Initially to
remain in budget, I would need small offices with the major metropolitan areas:
Illinois, Chicago; Los Angeles, California; Miami, Florida; New York, New York;
and Atlanta, Georgia. The business will operate under non-profit organizations
laws and handbook. Our financial resource would be supported and replenished by
investors and profitable donations. Each
property excluding the main Headquarters which would be located in New York,
New York; will have a maximum monthly rental budget of $3000 whereas the
Headquarters budget would be $5,000 a month. Supplies needed for purchase will consist
of ordinary office supplies, printers, computers, ink, print paper, pens etc. Fliers
will be presented door-to-door and mailbox to mailbox to have a more credible
and efficient way to broadcast the new opportunity. Furthermore, a billboard
will display the new organizations to advertise for more investors.
Venture concept: Housing is a basic
necessity in life. After the recession in 2008, many white and blue-collar
workers, were determined to launch their own private practices and businesses
after experiencing and witnessing the large amount of job turnover. The impact
of that recession left many Americans in fear, isolation and desperation, many promising
to never experience such helplessness again. How to overcome fear? Take power
into your hands. Some Americans dis so, they became the boss, they were calling
the shots, they were now administering the hiring and firing. Entrepreneurs became
the true definition of success. Some Americans lost their houses or were
evicted. Even today some Americans are still recovering to purchase home or
invest in a lucrative business. This opportunity highlights the American dream
so many Americans desire. Due to this very same reason this opportunity will
collect many investors of whom will mostly consist of entrepreneurs and
ordinary citizens who believe in the American dream. Customers would switch to
this new business proposal because it is new and non-exist within the current
market. There are real estate firm and community outreach non-profit. However,
each entity exists separately. It is unheard of and unseen to witness both
entities collaborating; which is present within my opportunity. It would be relatively
easy for customers to switch, especially due to the lack of competitors.
Distribution, customer support, customer experience and business location play
a vital role in defining my business concept. This opportunity success weighs
heavily on advertisement and customer satisfaction therefore the above
components greatly define this business. As the business expand more employees,
more efficient office equipment, and updated customer quality checks will need
to be administered. In the start-up
point, I would have 5 employees in each small office. In the headquarters I
would have 20 employees. Each location and division will have entry-level
employees, department lead, captain, managers, executive, and human resources.
Three minor elements: My venture secret
sauce or my most important resource is money; investors. In order to allow my
business to develop and function properly I need financial support. Competitors
will not and cannot copy my success. First and foremost, it is called “my”
success. Second, it really is my “secret sauce.” No competitors have tapped
into this market. Thirdly, the message behind my proposal defeats competitors.
We all feel better knowing we have done a good deed or have the possibility of
making the life of someone else better. Competitors cannot compete with
conscience that what make my opportunity undefeatable. In the next five years I
see this venture launching into international territory as presumed in my
business proposal. In the next decade I want the company to grow and be effect
at implementing a difference. This first
venture opens the doors to the achievements of adventures to come.
Hello Candice! I really enjoy the population hook in the opportunity. It’s a new way of thinking about the need for housing increasing, which I think is genius. How would you work under the non-profit organizations law and handbook? I know what your idea is because I’ve followed you throughout the process, but I think I got lost somewhere I guess. Also, I think your three minor elements are vague (I’m sure mine are too) so I don’t really understand it. Overall, great job on this though.
ReplyDeleteHi Candice, as I read through the opportunity, I want you to expand more on why this opportunity exists rather then the solution. You did this in the venture concept, switch it up and start with that. I feel starting out with the why is better to engage the audience in your cause. People want to know why this is important and then look into the methods to solving the problem.
