13A Reading Reflection No.1

What surprised you the most? What surprised me the most was the fact that Berry Gordy lost his virginity as a young boy under the age of 12. Furthermore, what surprised me is the fact that he lost his virginity to a prostitute, located at the corner of a street in the dark evening of the night. Needless to say, the business transaction was completed with an equal trade of goods. What about the entrepreneur did you most admire? I admired the persistence in Berry Gordy. As a young boy growing up, he refused to continue in the footsteps of his father by working tiresome jobs such as construction and selling products or by living paycheck to paycheck, he desired to earn an honest living by pursuing his passion, he realized early; difficult and stressful work is inequivalent to the definition of a man. What about the entrepreneur did you least admire? The least admirable characteristics or action was the fact that Berry Gordy sold Motown. As a black man in those times it was hard to ...

11A Idea Napkin No. 1

  1)     You.  Who you are. What your talents are. What your skills and experiences are. Also: what are your aspirations? Specifically, regarding your business concept, how do you see this business (if you were to start it) playing a role in your life? My name is Candice Dawson. I’m an innovative thinker majoring in business administration at the University of Florida to further develop my thoughts into profitable ventures. I have numerous skills, but of all my skills three is of the utmost importance intelligence, charisma and the third a reputable problem-solver, of which my friends like to call. While all these skills are important in terms of reaping financial success, I have more important aspirations of mine, one which defines my moral compass. The goal in life is to achieve good for communities and for people. In life moral success outweighs financial success; better to be a good man and poor than an evil man and rich, the prior can sl...

During the second interview process with a different sample group a few plausible questions were presented. These questions led to my current findings and answers. Who: Although some people shared numerous commonalities, there are people who fall outside the boundaries. I realized more than an expected number of customers were less eager to purchase a house. This sample group preferred rental living greater than the financial obligation of purchasing a house. The sample group admired the rent-to- own ideal but few customers were reluctant still, due to the contractual agreement associated with the rent-to-own. Few customers acknowledged their love for freedom in their living arrangement and stated the possible disadvantages of a rent-own agreement which would cause customers to remain stationary in such home.   Low-income customers, with no prior credit history argued the possibility of receiving a pre-approval on a house, low-income people suggested a rental agreement may be ...
