A description of the story, in your own words:
The NFL created a “social injustice” program for players kneeling during the
national anthem as a jester to gain awareness for the racial injustices in
America. In contrast, the NFL is controversially has rejected the American
Veterans Organization who tried to purchase commercial ads which would request
citizens to stand during the national anthem. After careful consideration, the
NFL approved the commercial, with a message which portrayed the NFL support for
veterans, however the Veterans organization was displeased and urged their initial
unrevised commercial ad. The request was refused and the NFL continued with the
revised commercial message. Those in opposition with the NFL, questions their respect
and allegiance to the nation due to the NFL allowing players to kneel and stand
as they please. Those in opposition believe the NFL initial desire to bring
awareness to social injustices have been distorted, due to the actions of players
by kneeling during the national anthem.

deaths have been accounted for. Students and faculty officials have reported
this as a non-isolated incident. However, to limit further deaths of birds on campus,
changes were made to doors and windows to augment the clear view by birds. In addition,
an app had been created to allow student to quickly report the deaths of birds
by uploading a picture and placing it on the app.

Oceanic wildlife habitats are destructed due to the aftermath of Hurricane
Irma, which caused vehicles and debris to disperse into nearby canals. Hurricane
Irma occurred in September 2017, however, the later days of January has arrived
and yet no cleanup of canals has been insisted. Monroe County’s Sustainability
Program Manager has requested help from FEMA and Florida’s Department of Environmental
Protection. Fema responded by stating they will only pay and clean up to a
depth of 15 feet. The remaining clean up fee will be paid for by the state DEP.
`A great jester due to the lack of funds by Monroe County, due to its previous
hefty clean up fee. Residents and local Volunteer group have joined together to
restore the canals of the Keys to its former state of beauty.

Candice, you did a really good job at giving a full and comprehensive description of each article and problem, and I could tell you put thought into the analysis of each problem. I was extremely surprised to see how widespread the destruction caused by Irma is still being felt in the state of Florida, especially in the keys. It was also interesting to see how the NFL is allowing their players to display their personal beliefs, but has been able to keep support for veterans.
ReplyDeleteI really like these stories !! you have covered these stories in a really good way and I like how they come from a different corners of our daily life !
ReplyDeleteI liked the one about the NFL players which was a huge issue when the season first started, the NFL stopped streaming the beginning of the games after a while as a show of power on their end.
I also find your story about the shrimp really interesting too, I am glad there are laws that protect the marine life.
